Here at White Sands Hospitality, we celebrate the efforts made by our team during the first quarter of 2023 to help support the forgotten coast’s many communities.
Owl Café and Franklin Café at 2023 Oyster Cook-Off.
The annual Apalachicola Oyster Cook-Off takes place every Saturday before Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in downtown Historic Apalachicola at Riverfront Park. All 2023 proceeds went directly to the Apalachicola Volunteer Fire Department to aid in funding the new fire truck purchased a few years ago thanks to past years Oyster Cook-Off success.
The Owl Café and Franklin Café rose to action through selling oysters, crab dip and bloody marys. With our teams combined effort we raised $2,950 to the Apalachicola Volunteer Fire Department.
Smoke House on CSB working Butts & Clucks Cook-Off 2023.
The Butts & Clucks Cook-Off took place in Battery Park in Apalachicola on January 20-21, 2023. Teams from across the Southeast competed for over $12,000 in cash and prizes. The competition was divided into four meat categories chicken, ribs, pork butt and brisket. All sanctioned by the Florida BBQ Association.
Out team over at The Smokehouse on Cape San Blas participated in the days excitement through becoming a vendor serving their delicious pulled pork and brisket sandwiches.

The 25th annual forgotten coast chefs sampler took place this year on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at the newly reopened historic Fort Coombs Armory in Apalachicola. Chefs from across the forgotten coast gather to prepare a variety of creative dishes. While local designers and shop keepers give a creative touch to the event by giving each venue table a decorative flare.
Our crew at The Owl Café, The Franklin Café, Longbill’s and The Smokehouse represented White Sands Hospitality with an array of mouth watering dishes along other local establishments.
Cape & Coast Premier Properties Chili Cook-Off 2023.
The annual St. George Island Chili Cook-Off kicked off their 41st event on March 2nd. The three day event features music, food, shopping, silent auction, golf outing, 5k race and a variety of food options. All 2023 proceeds from this event benefit the St. George Island Volunteer Fire Department.
Our crew at Cape & Coast Premier Properties aided in funding the St. George Island Volunteer Fire Department with sponsorship of $1,000.
