Paws and Paint: Humane Society Mural Sponsorship

The Franklin County Humane Society has been open since 1991, operating as a nonprofit organization at the edge of Tate’s Hell National Forest, just over a mile away from the Gulf of Mexico. This summer the Franklin County Humane Society has been hard at work with major facility restoration.

The image below is the original space the Franklin County Humane Society used as their daily feeding station.

The area needed some major love and attention. So White Sands Hospitality stepped in, independently funding the new dog feeding station.

Cape & Coast Premier Properties, Gibson Inn, Franklin Café, and Owl Café all pride themselves in having dog-friendly accommodations and spaces for our guests to enjoy. From our dog-friendly rooms and porches at the Gibson Inn and Franklin Café to dog-friendly beach house rentals with Cape & Coast Premier Properties, plus pooch-ready outdoor dining at the Owl Café. Our Franklin County White Sands Hospitality outlets all have something to offer to our guests with pups and mutts!

However, we did not stop there!

In lieu of having a sign for our sponsorship, we found it best to deploy some of our local talents. After much research and team conversation, we decided to select the talented muralist Javier Arreguin from Port St. Joe.

With the project underway, Javier and White Sands Hospitality Marketing team collaborated together to re-imagine the newly renovated feeding station.

Javier deployed his talents, creating a stunning dynamic mural showcasing some of the many animals that enter the Franklin County Humane Society’s care. On Friday, September 15 2023, at the VIP dedication of the new Bud Hayes Kennel Room was showcased alongside the White Sands Hospitality mural to Franklin County Humane Society sponsors and volunteers.

White Sands Hospitality couldn't be more happy with the mural. Its vibrant colors and intricate details breathes life into this vital community space. We eagerly look forward to this artistic vision being shared within the Franklin County Humane society for generations to come
